Originally a film editor, Cohen pioneered the use of digital tools in the editing room. He worked as a consultant for both Avid Technology and Montage, Ltd. "Lost In Yonkers" was the first studio feature cut with an Avid. "Crazy in Love" was the first digitally edited TV Movie.
Chairman of the Editing Dept at the American Film Institute (CAFTS) and taught there for 9 years in the 90s.
